Following graduation, Dr. Al Attar completed a rigorous 2-year residency at the Hunter McGuire Veterans Administration Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. During this residency, he acquired certification to perform IV sedation and received advanced training in implant placement and restoration, oral surgery, and complex restorative procedures — skills he brings to every patient visit at Family First Smiles.

Throughout his career, Dr. Al Attar has served patients across North America — from Toronto, Ontario, and Buffalo, New York, to his home in Northern Virginia. He joined Family First Dental Center in 2014 as an associate dentist and, following a successful practice transition, assumed the role of owner and lead dentist — renaming the practice Family First Smiles to reflect his commitment to the entire family. Life Outside the Office
Dr. Al Attar is married to his love of 19 years, Rose. Together they have two young boys, Josef and Dani. They now call Leesburg home and love spending time together on family outings and travels.
